Endorsements

One of the best ways for voters to get to know Carolyn is to have personal testimonials/endorsements from friends who know her.  If you have a good word to add about Carolyn, please write your endorsement in the space provided below.  We’ll post it soon afterwards.  Thanks!

Carolyn has been one of best my friends for forty-six years.  We grew up in Hot Springs and had a wonderful childhood together.  Carolyn has always served her fellow man with high character and distinction through her church, work and in her spare time.  Most importantly Carolyn’s intelligence is anchored over a broad area of topics, enabling her to effectively problem solve with a high level of critical thinking.  Fairness and kindness leads her forward in building consensus with those around her.

Raising and nurturing three wonderful children and accomplishing a longterm successful marriage has been Carolyn’s passion and priority for over forty years, even though her other passion has been to serve her fellow man through the political process.  Now is Carolyn’s time.  Our city and state will benefit from her calm, sure leadership and willingness to listen.

Carolyn, we wish you every success.  We know that service has long been an integral part of your life, and we’re confident you will make an excellent State Representative—someone who truly understands the hopes and dreams of our fellow Arkansans.  Moreover, you’re a wonderful inspiration to people, old and young, that the best time to pursue a goal you’ve always wanted to pursue is right now!  Best of luck in your campaign.  We look forward to saluting your victory.

Arkansas needs a Leader.  Arkansas needs a strong Servant Leader who believes in our wonderful State and Country.  Arkansas needs Carolyn Staley who knows what it means to be a Public Servant.  I’ve known Carolyn Yeldell Staley for about 50 years; that’s most of my life, most of her life.  Here’s what I’ve learned about Carolyn Staley over all these years.  She is a friend who has the capacity to care for individuals AND the citizens of her district.  Carolyn will find solutions to help people now and to help our future.  Her heart is so big that she can AND will do the right thing all the time every time.  When I recall her vast and diverse experiences from high school, in college, as an educator, as a wife and mother (and now grandmother), in public service, as a professional and as a woman of faith, I’m humbled to endorse Carolyn Staley for the State Representative position.  I hope you will check out her credentials and make the right decision when you VOTE.

Public service has been in Carolyn’s “to do” list since high school.  She is caring, energetic and smart woman with a rich work history and a wide variety of interests.  As a voter and as a friend, I appreciate the fact that she listens well and really cares about people as a friend and as a problem solver.

Carolyn is the right person to be state representative, and I strongly endorse her.  She is a lifelong Arkansan and cares so deeply for our state.  Her life experiences have made her such a thoughtful, well-rounded person, and she will bring such wise perspective to the office.  She certainly has my vote.

I have had the good fortune to know Carolyn Yeldell Staley for close to 50 years.  Carolyn and I were in the same graduating class at Hot Springs High School and I knew her when she was a representative to Girl’s Nation and class officer our senior year. Carolyn has held many offices over the years and has put forth her work ethic and caring heart in so many endeavors, it is hard to number them. Carolyn is almost too good to be true… but she is true and loyal and caring and a friend for life.  The folks of Arkansas District 32 are so fortunate to have her want to serve them. Carolyn will bring jobs to the district and will be a strong proponent for education and quality of life.

I worked as the director of the technology initiative of the National Institute for Literacy (NIFL) from 1994-2004 where Carolyn Staley was the Deputy Director and Acting Director of the Institute from 1994-2002.  During that time Carolyn was instrumental in building partnerships between the Institute and major federal agencies and private companies for shaping sound policies and practices at the federal level and state levels.  She also assisted in the development of major NIFL initiatives that were effective in helping the nation’s adult literacy field.

In addition, she planned and led a major national literacy public awareness campaign, where many public and private organizations and companies, as well as national, state and local media participated and promoted the cause of adult literacy for 3 years.  With the goal of ending low-level literacy in America, Carolyn initiated the 21st century National Literacy Summit where she successfully brought major federal and state players to the table for setting milestones to achieve the goals of the summit.  During her time as Acting Director of NIFL, Carolyn effectively lead and guided NIFL to move forward and achieve its mission despite a very difficult transitional time.

Carolyn has a passion to serve the public and has a broad vision and an imaginative mind to plan strategically, as well as organizational skills to bring diverse resources together to meet the goals.  Throughout my years at NIFL, Carolyn kept a very positive approach to meet challenges, and showed she is very sincere in helping underserved communities and people.

I support Carolyn Staley’s election to the office of State Representative because she has a deep and abiding concern for issues that matter to Arkansans and their families.  She is concerned that all people of the state of Arkansas will be treated with fairness and justice.  This is so important to ensure that we seek the good of all people.  She will base her decisions as a legislator on the effects each decision will have on the good of all Arkansans.

A wonderful lady who is running for the Arkansas House of Representative, District 32 has intersected with my life.  Her name is Carolyn Yeldell Staley.  Among many accomplishments she has served as Associate Pastor of the Pulaski Heights Baptist Church and we both claim Ouachita Baptist University as our Alma Mater.

So if you happen to live in District 32, I would encourage you to look at her many accomplishments.  Carolyn very well could be exactly who you are seeking.

Jerry T. Cook

Carolyn is amazingly fit for this job and you just wonder why she’s not been running before. I believe it’s because of her modesty.

With strong values, she’s very talented and a woman of work and passion. She loves and cares for people, whoever they are and wherever they come from. She also lives in the real world, the world with rich and poor, employment and unemployment, health and sickness and behind her permanent and so comforting smile there’s a very strong and serious woman.

She’s an incredible wife, mother, neighbor, pastor and I know she will soon be an incredible state legislator. From what I know and have seen, she’s really prepared for the job.

On top of her multiple talents, Carolyn has a beautiful and strong voice, and she’s definitely ready to be our voice in the District 32.
